Glamping in Wisconsin at Camp Kettlewood
A friend of mine shared a booking sale for a new place in Wisconsin for killer glamping in Wisconsin! So I jumped for the chance, as we had a week we needed to fill with some fun! So we booked two nights! And I was stoked! So excited in fact that I added a night! YAY!

What is Glamping?
Glamping combines the best of both worlds: the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors without having to forgo the comforts of home. Wisconsin is a prime destination for glamping, as it offers beautiful scenery, plenty of activities, and numerous glamping resorts to choose from. All you need to bring is your sense of adventure!
A little bit about Camp Kettlewood
Camp Kettlewood is a boutique campground where all you need to bring is your food! No need to pack a tent or anything else! They have all you need! They have a camping spot for everyone! From rad vintage trailers to group campsites of canvas tents! Even some amazing rustic cabins that were transplanted from a Boy Scout camp just down the road!
The camp owners refurbished these unique glamping spots for you to enjoy! Each site has electricity, coffee makers, a gas grill, fans or air conditioning, and fire pits! The bathroom and showers are just a short walk!
And when I say bathrooms, these aren’t your typical camp bathrooms! They are AMAZING! The bathrooms are super clean (including a few spiders), running water with on-demand hot water! And the shower is a rad outdoor rain shower, that was AMAZING!
They even have golf carts to take all your gear to your site! This is the cherry on top! As you don’t have cars all night driving through! It was so quiet and simply amazing!
Our experience at Camp Kettlewood
When we first arrived, it was easy to see where to go for our site! With rad signs when you first drive in! Each golf cart had a grounds map, so we knew where to go!
When we arrived at our cabin Deer Run, we opened up all the windows and let the fresh air in! Then after a bit, we closed them all to let the air conditioning do its thing! We were so thankful for the AC as it was a HOT HOT for a few days in East Troy. It made sleeping so amazing!
After dropping off all our stuff, we rode around the grounds to see where everything was. It was a rad area! The way the campsites are placed leaves you feeling like you are alone! There are a few campsites that are more secluded than others. But I loved how ours had a pond view and stayed in the shade most of the day! We had turtles, cranes, and frogs galore! Which we loved!
The bed was AMAZING! Best mattress we’ve slept in an Airbnb! I wanted to see if we could smuggle it out!
What we ate while glamping in Wisconsin?
I have wanted to amp up our camp food! And since there was a gas grill, I knew we could cook some killer meals!
For breakfast, we had scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Topped with cheese! We drank freshly brewed coffee we brought with us!
For lunch, we just snacked! I brought some cheese and crackers, apples, and chips! Which allowed us to have a chill early dinner!
For dinner, we made three delicious meals! First, we had BBQ Chicken Bowls with Grilled Veggies from Plays well with Butter! It was delicious! I want to try it again with some more seasoning (we didn’t bring much with us)
Then we had Chicken Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli! Ever since I made alfredo for the first time at home, I can’t stop making it! It’s SOOO much better than any jarred sauce I have ever had! Yes, I made this on a gas grill! It’s not any different than being at home! Your chicken happens to have more flavor!
The last night we had grilled black bean burgers with chips! I found The Actual Black Burger, and man, was it sooooo good! I bought more! I am trying to have us not eat meat every day, and these are so delicious! Get yourself some!
What did we do for three days at Camp Kettlewood?
Well, this was a trip that we did a lot of relaxing! This is one of the reasons I love camping! It makes me chill out! It makes me to relax, sleep in and enjoy the moment!
Justin told me that he never wakes me up while on vacation because he knows I need sleep. I am always tired. I wake up at the same time every day. Which is 830 am! Some may say that isn’t early, but I stay up until 1 or 2 on some nights!
So it was great to sleep in and not do any work for three days! It was seriously soooo amazing!
We would start a fire at night and sit there talking, laughing, and listening to the frogs! Until it got late and we went in and watched a movie! Kettlewood doesn’t have wifi and very little reception, so I downloaded a few movies to watch.
We loved walking around and taking a walk around the grounds. And since there weren’t that many people there, we checked out the empty campsites!
So what are you waiting for?
Pack your bags and head on up to Wisconsin for a glamping trip you’ll never forget! With so many great options to choose from, you’ll have no trouble finding the perfect spot to kick back and relax under the stars.
