How to read more with 5 simple and super easy steps!
Are you looking for ways to read more? We all know how essential reading is, especially in the technology era. Yet it seems like people don’t ever seem to find the time to sit down and enjoy a good book.
We understand that finding the time can be tricky! So we’ve put together a list of tips to do just that!
1. START IN BED
Read before going to bed! It might seem like a simple idea, but it really works! Studies show that people who read before going to sleep tend to sleep better and have more vivid dreams.
2. ADD IT TO YOUR ROUTINE
Make reading a part of your morning routine! Do you wake up 30 minutes earlier? Well, use that time for reading instead of catching up on the news or checking your email. Doing so will give you quality quiet time, boost your creativity and reduce stress levels! Have an important meeting today? Why not read some inspiring quotes ahead of time as a way to get energized, motivated, and inspired for success! Check out our collection of inspirational quotes.
3. TAKE IT WITH YOU
Always have a book with you wherever you go! The best way to get started today, worried about ruining the cover? Take it off? Or purchase a rad cover for it! But make sure you always have one with you! Bring it everywhere, on the bus, on vacation, to events…
If you want an easy way to get your book in while you are doing something else (driving or exercising, for example), try audiobooks! Audible is an excellent service with thousands of books available and free trials. Audiobooks allow you to “read” more because they help reduce the burden of reading from paper. It takes 4 times longer to read a physical book than listen to an audio version.
5. READ A FEW PAGES DAILY!
This is an incredible hack if you’re not a natural reader but still want to take part in all the benefits of reading! Start by reading at least 30-60 pages, and then once you’re comfortable with that, read a little bit more each day. Soon enough, you’ll be reading a book every week!
Hopefully, these tricks will help you become an avid reader in no time!
If you still haven’t found what your ‘perfect’ book is, keep searching until something clicks. Just don’t pick up anything too complicated – and it will slowly increase from there! I swear!
Not sure what your reading taste is? Get a library card and just check out some books! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t like a book right away. If I don’t like a book in the first 60-100 pages I put it down and start a new one. Life is too short to waste time on a hard-to-read book!
If you find you REALLY like the book, buy it and add it t your library!
