CAMPING AT TOGETHER FARS & BURGER NIGHT on THE FARM
Camping on the grounds of Together Farms! Our second camping trip of the year was to a Burger Farm! This booking was spontaneous as it mixes food, nature, and a farm! As someone who grew up on a farm, it is awesome to visit other farms. Read about what I learned growing up on a farm here!
Together Farms is located in Mondovi, Wisconsin, just south of Eau Claire, Wisconsin! The campsite we choose was the Furthest & Fanciest! See the site details here! I chose this site because it had a pit toilet, fire pit, and far away. We camp to get away from people!
When we arrived, Stephanie joked about us camping at the last campsite! When we walked out there, we knew why she asked if we were sure we wanted that site! I didn’t thoroughly read the description when booking, to be honest. The 15 min walk there was up two steep hills. The last one is the most brutal. Going back to the farm, you only have one hill.
The walk there and back was beautiful and worth it! The site was quiet, minus the birds and insects. It was so peaceful. The pit toilet was an adorable outhouse with a hole in the ground. All you need is your own toilet paper!
We could only make a fire the first night, like the second it stormed. We hung out in the car until there was a lull and booked it back to our site, where we relaxed in the tent with some drinks while listening to the rain!
Our tent floor started to seep through to our mats, so we removed the tarp underneath when there was a lull in the rain. After that, there was no more leaking! YAY!
BURGER NIGHT ON THE FARM
I love burgers! Especially when they are eaten outside with a cool drink! Justin ordered the Mondovi Buffalo Burger, and I got the Bacon Cheeseburger with a Gluten-Free Bun! We each have a side of fries, and I got some Gluten Free Cheese Curds!
I freaked out when she told me that they had Gluten Free Cheese Curds! They were DELICIOUS!!!! Justin drank a Miller Lite to wash it all down, and I had a Margarita in a can!
After dinner, we walked to visit the pigs! Piglets are so dang cute!!!! Afterward, we relaxed while we finished our drinks by the communal fire pit! Before grabbing the rest of our stuff and making the hike back to our site for the night.
MOVING THE CATTLE
Before it rained, we met up with Andy so we could tag along when they moved cattle. They move cattle every other day to a new field to munch on. It was rad to see how kind they were to their cattle and how happy their cattle were. As I walked in the pasture, the cattle followed right along. They knew exactly why we were there!
They have a rather easy and rad set up to the fence. Easy to set up, move and oh so quick! The fence is more proof how happy their cattle is. They could easily escape if they wanted to. But, they are so well cared for why would they want to leave!?
Justin and I cannot wait to go back to Together Farms! Possibly on one of their Chef Dinner Nights! Those look amazing! And yes, we will camp again and choose the farthest site again! Worth the hike!
