Seljalandsfoss & Skógafoss adventure in Iceland
We scouted TWO impressive waterfalls that we wanted to photograph our couple at! The first we stopped at was the Seljalandsfoss Waterfall! This waterfall is impressive! You can walk behind it! It was so awesome how you could feel the power of the waterfall!
We chose to go the way that we saw fewer people going. We quickly saw why there were fewer people. You have to climb down a little rope on some super slippery rocks to continue on the trail. We LOVED it! It was right up our alley of adventure!
We walked down the path a little to see a little crevis with a hidden waterfall! This waterfall was incredible! Since Justin and I were wearing our Teva Sandles, we walked right through the little river with no problem! Well, on the way out, Justin wanted to get a video of me walking out. I stepped on a rock, and it rolled like a wheel over. I fell into the water, checked to see if my camera was ok, and couldn’t stop laughing! You can see this hilarious video here!
We got notified that our Airbnb was ready! So we headed to check-in! It was a fun adventure trying to find it! You went down a dirt road that curved back to the adorable little cabin! We unpacked the car and made a delicious Beef Stew!
It was astonishing how horses surrounded our Airbnb! One view was towards the ocean, while it was a beautiful mountain range I couldn’t get over in the back! We watched the sunset, and I woke up to watch the beautiful sunrise!
When we got home from a session with our couple, these beautiful horses were in the driveway! I geeked out when I slowly walked up to them, and they allowed us to pet them. It was surreal!
On one of the last adventure days that we had a solo, we went to Skógafoss Falls. These are probably some of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland! We didn’t stay long as we were there once before. But as the sun came out, we saw a beautiful rainbow!
Before heading to the waterfall, we went to the museum not far away. It was fantastic to learn about their history, some of it we could read 🙂 But, seeing the photos and artifacts there was fantastic to see. They even had houses that they used to live in. These are my favorite kinds of museums! It’s not the cheapest, but it’s pretty awesome!
